The minor in world music is organized around hands-on experience with West African Drumming, Javanese Gamelan, Indian Raga, Jazz, and other musics. It combines experiential immersion with scholarly study (historical, ethnographic, philosophical.) This minor is for students who may not have training in reading music, but who nonetheless feel music's power and wish to deepen their understanding.
