The sports coaching minor and certificate offer an in-depth study of the theoretical and applied nature of coaching through an integrated series of courses, based on National Committee for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) national standards. The minor includes courses in: the theoretical foundations of sport coaching; growth and development of athletes; the psychological, social, biological, and physical aspects of coaching; injury prevention and care; and developing a coaching philosophy.
